Hawaii Volcanoes National Park has signed a sister park agreement with China’s Wudalianchi National Park.
The agreement will allow the parks to cooperate on projects and research.
Both parks are home to volcanoes.
HVNP hosts Kilauea, which continues to erupt at two locations, and Mauna Loa.
The Wudalianchi park has 14 volcanoes. Its last significant eruption occurred between 1719 and 1721.
HVNP also has a sister park agreement with Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes in South Korea.
